1. Summary

Kukiji is a browser extension for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Mozilla Firefox that lets you export, import, and delete your own browser cookies in JSON format.

Kukiji does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything happens locally in your browser. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, no telemetry, no remote servers, and no third-party SDKs.

2. What Kukiji can access

To do its job the extension declares the following browser permissions:

  • cookies — required to read, write, and delete cookies in your browser (the core feature).

  • downloads — required to save the JSON export file to your local Downloads folder.

  • storage — used only to remember the last domain you typed in the popup so it is pre-filled next time. Stored locally via chrome.storage.local. Never transmitted.

  • activeTab, tabs — used to read the current tab’s hostname so the “Current tab” button can pre-fill the domain filter.

  • host_permissions: <all_urls> — required because cookies belong to arbitrary origins; the cookies API is keyed to URLs and the user must be free to operate on any domain they choose.

These permissions are exercised only while the popup is open and only in response to direct user actions (clicking Export, Import, Delete).

3. Data we process

Data Where Purpose Transmitted?
Your cookies Read in-browser, written to a JSON file you choose Export/import/delete by user request No — file is saved locally
Last domain filter chrome.storage.local Convenience pre-fill No
Current tab hostname Read at button click Pre-fill domain filter No

We do not collect:

  • Personally identifiable information (PII)

  • Browsing history

  • Authentication credentials

  • Health, financial, location, or communications data

  • Any analytics or crash telemetry

4. Sharing

Because no data leaves your device, there is nothing to share. We do not sell, rent, or trade any data with anyone.

5. Remote code

Kukiji ships no remote code. All JavaScript is bundled inside the signed extension package reviewed by the respective browser store.

6. Children

Kukiji is a developer/power-user utility and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly process children’s data.

7. Security

Cookies you export are written to a plain JSON file on your machine. Treat that file like a password: anyone who obtains it can replay your authenticated sessions on the corresponding sites. Store it securely and delete it when no longer needed.

8. Your rights

Because no data is collected by the publisher, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. Your locally stored “last domain” preference can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or by using the browser’s extension storage controls.

9. Changes

If this policy is ever updated, the Effective date above will change and the new text will be published at https://rberet.com/privacy. Material changes will be reflected in the extension’s next release notes.
